Transcription of the Original Court Recording To all whom these presents shall come: I, Wright Holland, Sheriff of Webster County, State of Missouri send Greetings; whereas on the 16th day of October, 1862, a unit of attachment was issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Webster county in favor of Wright Holland as Sheriff for use of heirs of Jeremiah Pearson and against Joseph B. Love, Wm. McMahan, and Stephen A. Julian and to me delivered by said clerk. By virtue of which I did on this 22nd day of October, 1862, seize and attach all the right, title, interest, and estate that the said Joseph B. Love had of, in, and to the following Real Estate, viz: situated in Webster county of Missouri, South East quarter of South East quarter of Section No. 23 (Twenty-three), in Township No. 29 (Twenty-nine), of Range No. 17 (Seventeen). And whereas on the 16th day of September, 1863, Judgment was rendered in the Circuit Court of Webster County in favor of the said Wright Holland for use of laws of Jeremiah Pearson and against the said Joseph B. Love, Wm. McMahan, and Stephen A. Julian for the sum of Thirteen hundred Thirty-seven & 20/100 Dollars debt and One Hundred Twenty-two & 58/100 dollars damages and also costs. And said Real Estate deemed to be sold to satisfy the same. And whereas on the 7th day of January, 1864, a special fine (spelling?), was by the clerk of said court, issued on said Judgment against the said Joseph B. Love, Wm. McMahan, and Stephen A. Julian and in favor of the said Wright Holland for benefit of J. Pearson, and to me delivered on the 7th day of January, 1864. “Expose to sale at public auction for ready money, all of the right, title, interest, and estate of the said Joseph B. Love of, in, and to the above described Real Estate.” And Pleasant McClure being the highest bidder and last bidder for said Real Estate and the price and sum of Three Hundred Twenty-seven & 27/100 Dollars. The same was written of and sold to the said Pleasant McClure for that sum. Now, therefore, in consideration of the premises and of the said sum of Three Hundred Twenty-seven and 25/100 Dollars to me, said Sheriff in hand, paid by the said Pleasant McClure, the receipt whereas I do hereby acknowledge. And by the virtue of the authority in me vested by law, I Wright Holland, Sheriff as aforesaid do hereby assign, transfer, and convey to the said Pleasant McClure all the right title, interest and estate of the said Joseph B. Love of, in, and to the above described property that I might sell as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of the aforesaid execution. And notice to have and to hold the right, title, interest, and estate thereby conveyed unto the said Pleasant McClure, his heirs, and assigns forever, with all the rights and apportion as there is belonging. In Testimony , whereof I, Wright Holland, Sheriff of the County of Webster, have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this, the 19th day of March, A.D., 1864.
